NDAS Connection Problem with Freecom Classic SL Network Drive

I use a Freecom Classic SL Network Drive for backups for 2 XP Pro SP2 machines. It is connected to my Netgear wireless switch & router.

The Freecom drive uses NDAS, and every 10-15 minutes or so, I get a message saying 'Connection to the following devices are unstable. The system is reconnecting' on my XP laptop, referring to the Freecom drive.

Then 10-20 seconds later I get a message on my laptop saying 'NDAS Device reconnected.'

Can anyone tell me what NDAS is, and how do I fix this? Also, if the message appears whilst my backups are running, will the backup be OK?

Freecom are hopeless - wouldn't recommend them to anyone
