Need help with BIOS/RAM problem

My BIOS was reset recently and I need some help with configuring the RAM. I have 3 sticks of 128 MB not-sure-what-brand-but-can-find-out-if-needed. After I installed Windows with the new AWARD BIOS config, I found out that it was only detecting 2 of my 3 sticks. This is making my computer about 2-3 times slower and if anybody has a solution, It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Did all three sticks work before the BIOS was reset? If not, keep reading. Some Pentium 4 chips (i think that they use RD-RAM; someone correct me if I am wrong) must be installed in pairs. So by installing three chips, it will just activate the first two. I don't know what kind of RAM or what kind of CPU you have so I'm just making a guess.
