I have a computer about 2yr old and is currently running windows 2000 SP4
but i have one problem i want to replace it with windows XP but are unable as when i trie to install XP it says "You must be administrator to run this application and the only account i can access is a average account.
I am trieing to go into user accountsin the control pannel but it wants administrator password to let me do that as well.

PLZ!!!!
does anyone now any tricks or programs i can use to BYPASS the administrator. In eather way plz tell me

IF YOU GONNA SAY IT CANT BE DONE PLZ DONT POST IT!!!

Boot in safe mode and remove the password from the account, or remove the account entirely.

:edit:

Sorry if I misunderstood. If you're referring to the administrator password on the BIOS/mobo then you can reset that by using the CLRTC jumpers. Check your MBs manual for it.

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

Is this the same computer as in your other thread?

If it is, maybe the easiest solution would be to take out the hard drive and put it in another system as a slave drive, then format it. Replace it in your system as master and then install WindowsXP.
