Hi there,

My friend is planning on purchasing a computer from MSY Computer store.

The price list is here: http://www.msy.com.au/Parts/PARTS.pdf

Anyway, we've figured out that he'd get a Gigabyte M55SLI-S4 motherboard (Under AMD AM2 940pin M/B), and a AM2 DualCore 4200+ CPU (under AMD Athlon 64 AM2 940pin CPU. As for RAM, he's gonna get 1gb Samsung DDR2 800 (under A Grade DDR 2 Memory).

I've done my research, and I've gathered that they all should fit together, however, I'd like to make sure that they do before he makes a major purchases. I was hoping someone could confirm this for us.

Also, another question - does it really matter what PSU/case he gets? I can imagine size being an issue with cases, but he's getting a new one.

Thanks a bunch! =)

the components should work fine
the psu really matter, it should be from a trusted manufacturer like enermax or antec, it should have as many watts as possible (needed for your sistem ** see hardware recommandations**) and should have as many amps on +12 rails as possible (** again see recommandations**).
Hope i helped.

Thanks!! I have an Antec PSU myself, but I had to send it off to the manufacturer for faulty fans. They gave me a new model in return.

He'll probably get the 500w Antec Smart Power 2.

I'm very glad the hardware fits together!
