Need Wireless Adapter help

Ok
I have a Linksys Wireless-G USB Adapter, it is hooked up to my home pc and the signal is shot into the air, and my laptop catches it. Now i know most of you know that, so then i go to run a battlefield 1942 server and i opened all the right ports , it shows up on the list but whenever someone conencts to it it says failed to connect, i was wondering if there was an ip i went to, to config the adapter like 192.168.??.?? and i have all the patches it is fine, game is working perfet im pretty sure it is the ports , add me on to msn if you can help me or reply please NEED HELP!!!
