Network Connection Loss

We have recently been undergoing problems regarding broadband network connections. As a file is uploaded to our web site server or an email is being sent with a large attachment(4mb) the network speed will gradually slow and stall as it tries to send the file. This can then only be resolved by closing the program and restarting the upload.

At first we assumed the router feeding the "switch" with the connection needed restarting to boost the connection speed back up and stabilise it. This however has not improved our situation. We are now starting to suffer from interupted phone call connections (standard lines), where the user will temporarily lose the ability to hear the call. This can happen numerous times a day on any phone in the building, this sounds like there is a problem from a central source that connects all the phones, as yet we have not found the culprit.

With all these problems happening, no error messages on either the internet machines or phone system manager are popping up and making themselves known
.

We are dealing with a phantom bug that likes to feed on our network connections. HELP!!!

Talk to your ISP as this may be caused by a contention issue. It may also be caused by the BT exchange. Does this happen by chance at specific times of the day?
