OK, here's the deal. I have my Brother MFC4420C printer connected to my computer running Windows XP, and I want to be able to use that printer with my Windows 2000 computer. Both are connected to a D-link DI-604 router. The problem is, when I try to use "add a printer" on the Windows 2000 system, it says "improper printer name" or whatnot. I'm sure that it is the correct name because that is what it says on my Windows XP machine. Anyway, when I made the Network Setup Wizard disk or soemthing and put it into my the Windows 2000 system, but when I click on it it says that WIndows 2000 is not supported. What am I doing wrong? Is it the router? Thanks in advance.

I'm sure this is a dumb question, but do you have the printer itself shared?

I think when you add a printer in 2k you can navigate to it through network neighborhood and show 2k where it is rather than typing its location. Give that a shot.
