Hi,

My network consists of two pc's, one using Win XP, the other Win 2k. On Win 2k, i can set a password that needs to be entered for the XP comp to access it from the my network places icon on the desktop. On my 2k comp can just go into XP with no user name or password needed. Is there any way to set a password for access to shared drives/folders on Win XP??? Thanks.

It's probably because you have a username/password that is identical on both machines - and you're authenticating as your current user when you traverse your XP machine. Try accessing the machine with a username that does not exist on the XP machine - you should then get a pop-up.
