networking status and tray icon problem

Even though I have checked the "show icon in taskbar when connected" checkbox on the properties dialog box for my internet connection, no icon appears. Also, if i right click on the icon in the Control panel applet and select "Status", nothing happens.

Pls help!!!

I think I came across this problem a while ago, but I'm not sure how I fixed it. I'll look around agian, and try and get back to you.

Which OS and are you using Dialup or Ethernet?
