New Desktop not displaying Wifi networks, only ethernet

As the title says, my new computer won't detect any wifi networks
in the device manager under network adapters there is only an intel ethernet connection and several WAN miniport options

Are you sure this PC has a wireless NIC? It is not listed as having one in the MB description when I looked it up.
 
I like what Gabriel Pike's suggestion. I would also check BIOS. Some BIOS will let you disable devices like WiFi. After that, I would boot WinPE/Linux from a flash drive to see if those operating systems see the wifi adapter.

Neither of the two sff PCs I bought in the past two years had wireless. You can add a usb wifi connector for very little money. It'll work great unless you have a challenging situation regarding wifi. It's plug and play for the more recent versions of Windows.
