New graphics card help

  1. I've been meaning to upgrade my graphics card for awhile (I've got a nVidia Geforce4 MX 420 64 MB at the minute) and now that I find it's not on the comaptible list for Medal of Honour Pacific Assualt I've decided to do it now.
The trouble is I'm not that 'teched up' and desperately need some advice on what to get (and if my computer will need upgrading too).

I've got an Intel Pentium 4 2.40GHz with 512 MB DDR RAM and a MSI 6547 version 1.0 motherboard with a 32-bit AGP 4x/2x slot.

The list below is all the cards compatible with MOHPA, will any work with my motherboard as most seem to be AGP 8x or will I need to get a new motherboard as well as a new graphics card?

    ATI Radeon 8500, 9000 Pro, 9200, 9500, 9600, 9700, 9800
    ATI Radeon x300, x600, x800
    Nvidia GeForce 3, GeForce3 Ti 200
    Nvidia GeForce4 Ti 4200 with AGP8X, GeForce Ti 4600, GeForce4 Ti 4800 SE
    Nvidia GeForceFX 5200, 5300, 5500, 5600, 5700, 5750, 5800, 5900, and 5950
    Nvidia GeForce 6800

Thanks in advance from a desperate techno novice!

    Basic advice

Although I don't know what is compatible with your MSI motherboard, I highly recommend going to the manufacture's website ( probably) and search your motherboard and read its specifications. If that won't work, I suggest visiting some graphics card sites ( or and check the compatibility listings in their product lists. If you still can't find an answer, I suggest looking up in 'Compatible Graphics card for MSIxxxxx' (where xxxxx is your motherboard model), or you can go out to stores and check the back of the product boxes for more details about each graphics card. Hope this helps!
