Hey all, I'm putting together a new rig with the new 8800gt video card PCI express 2.0 It's also direct 10 compatible. To my understanding I can only get direct x 10 with vista is this true? I already have a brand new sealed legit XP ready to go. I bought it almost a year ago, and at that time they offered me some vista update coupon or some kind of mobo jombo. I don't know if I can still take advantage of coupon or not. What are the diffrent types of vista? Are they really worth it? Should I get XP 64 does that support direct x 10?

IMO, Vista isn't worth $0.02; most corporate users concur and refuse to upgrade. CAVEAT EMPTOR.

If you intend to use more than 2/3GB of ram you'll have to go with a 64-bit version of the OS anyway & in that aspect Windows Vista X86-64 is said to work better than Windows XP X86-64. The Home Premium edition seems like a good balance of price & features.
