Hey, i've got a rather simple network query, but I can't find the answer anywhere.
i'm thinking of setting up a home network using an old P1 to run the 'smoothwall' firewall.
But the pc's so old that it can only has room for an ISA NIC, and as far as i know the only ISA network cards are 10base-t.
If I were to set a network as follows:
Modem
|
|
Smoothwall; 10base-t NIC
|
|
10/100base-t Switch
| |
| |
PC PC
would the direct connection between the 2 pcs be 100mbit, or would the slower network card slow the whole network down?
Thanks in advance.
