No HD found in XP setup

Who can help me?

MOBO Asus k8v se deluxe
wd sata 160GB ( is jumpered for the 150 MB/s) cf Wd site
floppy drive 1,5 GB corsair 3 x 512MB ddr 400
cpu AMD 64 Athlon 3200

when installing XP the error that windows cant find a HD. At the beginning f6 is pressed so theat the req will appear for extra drivers for the sata. After doing this (drivers come from Asus site and the CDrom delivered with teh MOBO) the message appears no HD connected setup will stop press F3.

what can I do it driving me crazy.

do you have a RAID setup? if not, try letting the installation run without pressing F6.

Did you actually make an F6 *FLOPPY* disk with the Asus cdrom drivers on it?

You actually need to tag a floppy drive along if you wish to use your SATA controller with XP for the install. You boot off the Asus CDROM, use it's boot menus to format/create a driver FLOPPY, then use this with the Windows XP install.

I have a FD connected to the Mobo. The problem is solved.
What was the reason of the prob......
The drivers on the Asus cd are not accepted by MS XP. So I searched the sites WD, Asus and windows and found nothing that could help me. On a forum I found someone with the same prob and the same equipment MOBO HD Ram. The solution that he had been given worked perfectly, driver via the VIA site.
