no signal to my moniter.....help

I just built a new computer, that is if it ever works. I have an Asus A8V deluxe motherboard, amd 3700+ processor, 1 gb valueselect corsair ram (512X2), ati 9550 256 agp graphics card, pioneer dual layer dvd burner, dvd-rom, and two wd hard drives from my old cpu, 40gb and 160gb. I tried a geforce 6800 gt, but still got no signal, i'd rather use the 9550 and get my money back for the geforce. also i have an antec truepower 2.0 430 w power supply. it sounds like it starts up fine, and there is no message from the motherboard sound slot, any ideas and help would be great thx
