no signal trouble

i know its simple but sometimes when i start up my monitor does not. when i press a button on the monitor it says no signal. i have replaced the monitor several times and the video card just yesterday. still acting up. somedays i have no trouble at all but then all of a sudden no video. upon start up i get a hardware monitor error but when i go to see what it is it doesnt say.

i know someone has been down this road. any help is greatly ppreciated. thanks nick
