No Taskbar

Does anyone know how to manually setup explorer.exe from a win98 CD using MSDOS ? I have an error message 016F:00401F31 in Windows 98. I've been advised to run my CD to reload any missing files; which I did but I still don't have a taskbar and no explorer file. So I was thinking if I could manually do it in DOS it would work. Any suggestions ?

Getting a single file extracted off your 98 disk from a boot disk is not to hard. Use the extract command with the /A switch (to process all CABs). Makes it easier that way.
