Just thought I would add another anti-symantec thread to the masses.
I had been using their antivirus software for years, and for the most part it did a decent job of keeping out the viruses for me (although there are hundreds of threads in this forum from people who also used symantec but were not so lucky as I was).
However, since the VAST majority of users here are so against Symantec's products, I decided to be pro-active and try something else.
I downloaded the AVG antivirus software.
I am amazed how much faster my computer boots up now. At least twice as fast. The difference is phenominal. I never realized how bloated that software really is. Symantec seriously slows down your system!
