Notebook shutsdown

hi guys I have a compaq presario V2000 notebook, and recently it just shutdown.I took out the battery and plugged in the AC adapter but that didn't work. I tried another AC adapter nothing works in short no electricity's coming in at all. can anyone help me please.

If you have a volt meter then you can test the power supply, other than that, its a trip to the local repair shop unfortunately!!!

I dont have a volt meter I guess I'll make that trip to the repair shop lol..... I also have an Hp Pavillion ze5170, it starts up but i'm getting a blank screen windows doesn't start up. can you give me some guidance in that please?
