Nvidia and AMD graphics card prices could be about to fall again

I can see Nvidia keeping the 3060 on the market for quite a while they could lower it to £260 and probably still make a profit. And AMD will still have loads of RX 6600 XT's to sell into next year. I can't see mid range products coming out until spring next year.

Probably a lot depends on stock levels - the money to build them is now gone .
You have to pay for storage , new GPUs will devalue them .
Sure the bean counters will work it out
The smartest ones have already moved a lot of stock - predicting this at a still good price

Again? Here in the EU, most are still well above MSRP.

Australian prices also still a total rip-off. US gets subsidised by the rest of the world it seems.

Current gen would need to be 50% RRP to even be worth considering. A 4070/7700XT for example will no doubt easily beat a 3080Ti and both will be under $600 so why would you even pay the same money let alone 30% more for a discounted 3080Ti for example. 3080 Ti would only be an option at say $400 IMO.

What makes you think a 4070 is going to be sub-$600 at launch?

Until we're proven otherwise, the 4070 is rumored to be around the 3090 performance level. If that's the case, a 3080Ti would be nipping at the heels of a 4070 (even if it is as fast as a 3090Ti, that's only about 8% faster than the 3080Ti)

But, that's just based on speculation and rumors so far about the 4070. We need to actually see it's performance to make a proper judgement.

I do agree with the pricing though. If the 4070 comes in the $500-600 (I'd probably say more like $649) range, it wouldn't be prudent to purchase a 3080Ti unless it was at the same price range (preferably less, since it is already 14+ months old).

4070 Ti will be the $650 card, not the 4070. AMD RDNA3 cards are much cheaper to produce than Lovelace, Nvidia will be in a world of price pain if they think they can charge $650 for a 160 bit bus 4070. 7700XT won't be $650 that's for sure.
