OL Express 6 Problem

All,

Having a problem. Any new email downloaded from POP3 server to OL Express6 disappears after reboot. Initially the folder shows the # of messages but when you click on the folder, the messages disappear. This occurs on all profiles on PC.

Any ideas desparately appreciated!!!

First thought; corrupt file maybe? I guess you could try doing a chkdsk /f.

Also with that kind of problem it usually helps to do an update, or you could even install Microsoft Outlook and use it instead. They are both basically the same program. Outlook just has added features for businesses.

re-install windows

just run the update......not the full install........will re-establish your os...........then race over to windows update and get caught up...............nothing will be lost...........famous last words

Your Outlook Express file might have been corrupted.
I've had this happen to one of our users' Outlook PST file before & had to run repair utility.

Installing Outlook will enable you to import your Outlook Express mailbox. You could then check and see if the mail is actually deleted, or just now showing up properly. You could then archive the outlook .pst file and then update your IE & Outlook Express to latest & greatest w/o fear of loosing everything.

Once you have 'patched' outlook express you could import in everything from outlook pst file.

Would also recomend switch Outlook Express & Outlook mail settings to leave mail on the server while trying to fix this problem... so you don't end up loosing mail.
