Onboard or Off???

Can anyone advise me if I should stick with the PC97 onbard sound that came on my Abit VT7 mother Board or should I stick in the old Creative Audigy back in?

Probably wont make a whole lot of difference as far as I know. I tend to use my seperate sound card just for its subwoofer support but when switched from the soundcard on my motherboard to the offboard one I didn't notice any difference at all.

the dedicated sound card should be better. the audigy uses less cpu than typical onboard sound. plus the sound quality on the audigy will be a lot better.

you can tell the difference if your speakers or headphones are pretty good. your sound will only be as good as your weakest component. if your speakers are low quality, then there will not be that much of a difference between those two sound cards.

I think I'll stick the Audigy in as I have good speakers.
