Open system setting

Hi guys

i have netgear WGR614v6

now i was reading a psp setup guide and it says i should put it on open system

i am using a wep key 64-bit now if i do this my network is still protected right?

Just a guess, but open system just sounds like they "way" it authenticates, and not necessarily the security itself, as it appears you can still set an encryption key and everything. So you should still be protected.
