Operating System Not Found

Hey. my dad just gave me a used computer. It works. However when I tried to swap the hard drive from my old computer and then start it up it reads "OPERATING SYSTEM NOT FOUND". When I put it back in my old computer it works fine. Also the Hard drive that came with it boots up fine. What do I do?

You can not just transplant a harddisk from 1 PC to another. The installed Windows has all registry entries for the hardware of the other PC, so unless both PCs are identical in hardware, it will almost never work.
Also check for Master/Slave settings on the rear of the HD.
PCs can only boot from HD if the 'bootloader' is on the first partition of the first harddisk of the first IDE-controller (or from SATA/SCSI).
