Hi all,
I've overclocked my Athlon 64 FX-55 from the standard 2.6ghz to 2.7 by upping the CPU Frequency. Thing is, I can get it up to around 2.8-2.9 but when I try to play something my computer gives me the BSOD.
Temperatures are fine but what am I doing wrong? CPU voltage is set to 1.55v but whenever I try to increase it, my computer fails to boot.

My motherboard (ASUS A8N SLI Deluxe) has a plethora of overclocking options which I know nothing about really, I'm just trying to get more from my fx-55!
What does the multiplier do?
What's AI N.O.S all about?

Can't you just tell I'm an amateur at this overclocking malarky!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Hmm

Sounds like your memory does not support the overclock to me as CPU overclocking generaly does not casue a BSOD. Maybe try upping the voltage and lowering the timings a bit. Or if possible lower you memory speed via a divider. Doing so may give you a better OC

That CPU is pretty much guaranteed to not get past 3.1 GHz even on watercooling. It's barely worth overclocking, because it is barely overclockable. Might be worth it to just leave it where it is.
