P3 to P4?

I have an IBM ThinkPad A22m with a P3 1 Ghz processor. I was wondering if I can upgrade to a P4 processor or is it possible?

generally it is quite difficult to upgrade laptop CPUS. The cases tend to be well sealed and the parts more difficult to tinker with. I don't recommend such upgrades for the average person.

Can a P4 even compatible with a P3 mobo?? I always thought that they had different pin setups from what I've heard.

hi cooper,

the short answer is no, you can't. they require different chipsets, sockets, memory, etc.

the entire motherboard would have to be replaced to do it.

cheers
