Partitioning discs & reformatting 1 "drive" question

If a single physical HD disc is partitioned into i.e.
Drive C and Drive D, and if Drive C has to be reformatted,
does it affect Drive D?

Anything special to do?

No. It is the partitions that you format, not disks. (Stupid MS legacy to call partitions drives)

You should triple check that the thing you are formatting is the right partition - drive letter assignments are not always the same.
