pc really slow and really annoying

Hey i need some help. i just got back from vacation and my pc is so freaking slow and its really pissing me off. i need to know how to fix it. i trying running my symantec anti-virus but i let it run for 2 days and it didnt finish cause i got to annoyed with it. i also ran spybot s & d and it was taking forever too so i canceled it. to give u a small impression of how slow this thing is, it took me about 2 hours just to register to this website. btw it takes about an hour to just startup my pc. anyway this really sux and if anyone can help me that would be freaking awesome cause i am really starting to dislike computers right about now. thanks alot. nukenfutz.

1st, try takeing off Norton AV, purely for troubleshooting purposes... If the slowdown still there, then do a scan... actualy, just read this thread here:
