pc shutdown

can anyone help? first time user of TECH SPOT my hardrive keeps shutting down only when playing one particular pc game, and only since i added an expansion pack

sytem details:

intel pentium 4
300gb hardrive
ge force 256 mb video card
1024mb memory

Is the system shutting off, or just the hard drive?

Does this happen immediately, or after playing for a bit?

Something may be overheating, or maybe your PSU can't handle the load.

hardrive only shuts down ,router,printer... all stay powered up, after maybe 20 min, if i try to press power button,it wont allow and have to wait 5 min before starting again, the game i am playing is using 2780mb memory

It sounds like overheating or a power supply problem.

how do i resolve overheating if this is source of problem

Use a program like Everest Home (or Free Edition), and check them out
