I was expecting PCIe x1 cards being released in 2004 when the technology was released. Was I foolish in thinking this? Why haven't we seen a great amount of cards using this new technology created?
PCI-E is not the dominating interface because there is no real need for it.
PCI is more than adequate for most things, more and more peripherals come integrated to motherboards, mobos still ship with PCI slots and PCI-compatible chips are dirt cheap.
