PCMCIA - what does it stand for?

I'm a CompTIA A+ student, and seem to know most common Harware acronyms. But I cannot for the life of me remember what PCMCIA stands for.

People Can't Memorise Computer Industry Acronyms (as was suggested by a friend) isn't it, and now its bugging me. Could somebody please tell me?

It's the most drawn out, inefficient, unwieldly, extraneous and ineffective acronym I have ever heard.
