Playing a device through line-in on soundcard

I have a minidisc player, and I want to play it through my XP computer. I know that I can record the sound from the line-in, but I can't seem to play it.

Is it possible?

Yes you can, as long as the software you are using to play it has the option to use the Line-in as a source.

Brilliant. Sorry about the wreong foru. I just plain didn't think.

Any suggestions on software I can use. Google only seems to want to show me how to record. I can already do that.

never mind. After a bit more looking, I've found a winamp plugin.
