Seller is asking $1800, seems like a fair deal. I'm meeting him tomorrow to take a closer look at the item. I'm fairly knowledgeable about PCs, but have never purchased a used laptop before. Anything in particular I should look out for? The item was being used by a student, he got sick of lugging the heavy beast to class.

just some thoughts....
basically I would say its a good deal. well, you never know but first of all check if there is any visible damage (cover, dispay, ect.) then if there is any os preinstalled try the functionality of keyboard and touchpad. if the seller allows it take a usb device with you to test the usb ports, look for faulty pixels in the display, maybe run a benchmark....
