Hi there.
I have a Compaq M2000 series with an Ati Radeon xpress200 video adapter. So I want to connect it to my tv, it's an old (1997) Sony Trinitron. I have a s-video adapter connected to the laptop that is connected to a composite video cable attached to my tv, but the system doesnt recognizes the tv as a monitor or anything.

MY CONNECTION:
LAPTOP TV OUT----S-VIDEO ADAPTER---COMPOSITE CABLE----TV

My tv doesnt have an s-video input, only composite.
what am I doing wrong? Please help me and thanks in advance!

help!!!

i am having the same problem. i have tried every thing i can think of to fix it and it just doesn't work. i even called tech support and they had know idea what they were talking about.

Hi and welcome to Techspot both of you!

Have you tried to update the video drivers to the latest version?
We need to know that first.

Good luck!

Drivers updated

Ok, I have updated my drivers and that didnt work, so I decided to buy another adapter that connects my laptop's s-video connector to a composite cable that conects to my tv and... it worked!
The problem was in the adapter, even both are similar, but the last one was ok. It costed me $us 30 in Bolivia (South AMerica).

thanks alot for your help guys!!! i guess i will try buying another s-video to composite cable. thanks alot this thing was driving me crazy!
