To set a change of pace in our usual weekend open forum, we are running two polls and an open discussion so you can help us with your feedback letting us know what TechSpot content you enjoy the most and where you would like us to improve.

FYI, we are currently working hard on putting final touches to our full redesign dubbed TechSpot 3.0. It's been many years since we went for a full revamp, and we are really looking forward to it. Believe me, it's looking amazing, yet we are keeping with tradition by making TS 3.0 very functional and clean from a user's experience point of view.

On the content side, we have a few things planned for 2014, but not before asking for your input, so here we go... (note there are two separate polls, scroll down for the second one). Thank you for your support.

I didn't know what to vote for on "What'd you like to see more of? Where can we improve?" poll.

There is one thing that kinda bugs me. It is the software download pages and no application screenshot. There has been a few times, I clicked the authors link just to see one screenshot. It doesn't even have to be a high quality screenshot. Anything that shows the application's basic layout, is usually all I'm interested in.

I'm pretty happy with TechSpot and can't really think of much to improve. It's pretty inclusive with all the different facets of PC computing there are. Possibly a few more "how to" and "tricks of the trade" type articles? Even basic stuff like how to partition hard drives, or install an OS from a thumb drive, best way to set up and calibrate your monitor - things like that. Even the most experienced users can use a "how to" reminder now and then along with there may be new techniques to accomplish activities we've been doing the same way for years.

More accurate hardware reviews, for example the recent Asus t100 tablet review was underwhelming and almost ALL user comments reflected that fact.

More Microsoft software/hardware features, as this site does seem weighted toward Apple iStuff.

Otherwise I really appreciate the work you guys do and read the articles every day.

I agree with the other guest post!
I really like this site and it is my home page here in the USA
You guys really really do a good job- my 2 cents

I voted it appears in the current majority - more PC, gaming, news etc.

Thanks!

I have a suggestion on what u can improve on :D. in the downloads section could u make it so we can select "view freeware only" and vice versa. thatd help alot :D

It was the old counter strike tweak guides that got me on the site originally. But it's evolved really nicely. The troll baiting Microsoft and Apple stories are hilarious and the mix of other stuff is good too. I'd like to see more in house reviews rather than guest stories from other sites and more technical guides as Tom mentioned. Maybe we could write them and have a reader guides area that is formatted to look official with the guides verified by the site before going live.

If aint broken dont fix it, period! do only if it adds up something extra or polish it even further than what it is now.

I really like the PC games performance reviews, and therefore there should be more games included in this section. Also sometimes they take longer than expected, for example I'm still waiting for a Mantle review as deep as possible.

Please do not take the PCMag/PCWorld plunge and turn this great site into an ugly, cluttered, headache inducing, claptrap bogus junkyard of a website.

Thank you for the feedback so far, keep it coming!

In the past year or so we've struggled with performance reviews mainly for one reason: when we start testing we notice that graphics are not up to snuff, and thus they don't challenge PC hardware. Few exceptions have been made when games are really high profile, but otherwise we haven't seen Crysis-caliber releases in a while.

As for Mantle, we tested it in-house and we deemed it too buggy to make real analysis.

Absolutely not. I promise ;)
