Printer Problem: mismatched/running printing

I have an old Epson LQ-1170 impact printer. I still want to use it.

Problem: when I print any document, the first line is 'cut into half' with wide space between those two 'pieces'. it's hard to explain by text. Here's the best example;

I want to print:

Welcome to Brunei Darussalam..
A kingdom of the unexpected treasures.
duhhh...

Expected result:

Welcome to Brunei Darussalam..
A kingdom of the unexpected treasures.
duhhh...

Actual result:

-----------------------------




-----------------------------
A kingdom of the unexpected treasures.
duhhh...

NOTE: Those two separated '-----' is actually one word/first line of the document which is "Welcome to Brunei Darussalam..".

What's wrong?
