Problem in Yahoo Messenger

Hi there,

I have downloaded the Yahoo Messenger. It installed perfectly without errors. After installing, I opened the yahoo messenger and tried to chat with my friends. The chat window opens correctly. BUT...when I type and hit Enter key or Send button, the message is not appearing in the receiver's window located above the type area. And also, If I open the ID which is offline, there should be a message telling that particular ID is offline, but it is not showing. I'm worried what would be the problem is as the messages are not going to the receiver's window. Can anyone tell me is there any problem with Microsoft VM or JavaScript or any kind of option getting disabled. I checked all the options in the preferrences of yahoo messenger.

I was going to tell you to check the prog. preferences, but seems like you already did

Okay, I think you should double chk them AGAIN.

If this is not getting to work, try dling the latest version. If not working, s/w back to old versions which are already stable and i guess, you shouldn't have any problem then.

check your firewall that the proper ports are open!

you should see a BLOCKED msg in the firewall log if this is the issue.
