Problem with RCA DCM225 Modem

I'm having a problem with my cable modem (with Comcast); just recently my modem has been experiencing a sort of "lock-up" where the Power, Pc-Link, and Cable lights stop flashing and my internet connection dies. I have to reset my modem, then another lock-up occurs within an hour or so. I've contacted Comcast and they said it must be a hardware problem. Is it possible for this problem to be fixed or should I just buy a Linksys BEFCMU10?

Thanks for the help.

sure sounds like hardware. Can they diagnose the modem when it is in the
faulure state? This means you need to call and have your account number ready
and they need to try to access the modem. Ask them to try to reset it over the
net. If it's a leased device from the ISP, they should replace it for free.
