Problem with starting?

HI

I have an Acer Aspire 5100 Notebook
The problem is that the NB does not start Normally, the power is on, the power light is on, but the monitor is off, it just doesnt start, i have to turn of then turn on for many times , sometimes i have to do it more then 20 times, till it starts workin, but when it starts , it works perfectly. I wonder if you could tell me where the problem is, why doesnt start on the first time i click the power button?
If you have any Idea , please show it to me....thaks for the time, i hope i will hear from you soon

Remove the battery and try starting on the AC adapter only

Thnx for advice but still is the same situation...it's killing me
I've removed the battery , worked without it normaly, i shutt it down, when i try to power it on it doesnt start normaly (sometimes starts normaly but usually no, i have to try many times till it starts).....??

Also when I install any programs that requires a system reboot in the end , the system can not be restarted.....

Can something be wrong with BIOS?

I ask that cuzz' when i do the "rutine" turning of and on till it starts it there is something that showes in black screen , it all about system information (i dont remeber well) and in the end of screen is kind of that note: Press F1 to resume bootin or F2 to setup defualt....something like this

It looks like you have a hardware fault of some kind. Your only option is to have it repaierd by a professional im afraid.

Do you know What could it be...Ram Memory, Motherboard, Power tool or somehting else....

It could be anything really, thats why you really need a professional to diagnose and repair it.

It also sounds like a hardware issue to me. You might check the power options and make sure they are correct. Try resetting them to defaults

yeah, sounds like hardware. Try to take out everything that is somehow removable (ram, harddisk, optical, pcmcia cards, ...) then try again and see if you can access the bios (from what I read its the f2 button). if you can access the bios try to find 'load default settings' or something like that and do it. then put in the hardware you removed before one by one.

Hi once again.I want to tell you some other details and hear about your opinion.

It has to do with USB Ports(3 USB Ports).They dont work propperly.(I use External Mouse and Keyboard).


1.Sometimes all of 3 ports are working , sometimes works only one, sometimes non of them(at this moment arent working).
2.Sometimes they are working, suddenly just stop working
3.Sometimes they are not working and they just start working
4.Sometimes the USB Port that i'm using is working, then it stops, then i try to use next one, at the moment that i put it(mouse or keyboard) on, my PC freezes(Blocekd) then i have to restart(damn i'm afraid that is not going to start for a while)
5.Often happens during the windows xp logo loading, PC gets blocked, then i switch all usb tools off, and then starts, but sometimes i am not using at all any usb tools and this "****" gets bllocked during XP Loading...

It is all about "Sometimes" , the situation changes....I dont know what a hell is going on:S

It may seems stupid but i'm suffering here

ylli, this is southbridge faulty. ou can replace the MB, ot you can repairing it.

"MB" you mean "MotherBoard"?

Do i Have to buy new one or can it be fixed?

Thx for you'r suggestion but I'm from Kosovo (newest State) and i cant bring it there.

I went to e service specialist, he said that he could not intervened deeper in Mainboard. He said that this could be more dangerous, he was just not so clear on his explanation. I had to leave to him for a week, i dont if i should send it to another one. They have the most famous service store.

Anyway I'm making a Maniboard request from Germany (one of my friends is buying for me). He asked for PC information?

So, this is my pc Inforamtion:

How much information should i give him? is it enought: Acer Navarro Mainboard?

ylli, just tell him, that you need the motherboard replacing for Acer 5100 models family. this family has same motherboard, and the typical faulty - the southbridge(ATI SB460) dying. the symptoms are: non working touchpad and USB ports.
