Problems installing sound card, please help

Hey, I recently bought an M Audio Audiophile 2496 sound card and I'm having trouble with the installation, I installed all the drivers but when I check in the control pannel, it says that the card can't start (code 10). I'm really not sure how I could arrange this but I have already unistalled and reinstalled the drivers, unplugged and replugger the sound card and checked for new drivers on the internet but nothing in the windows troubleshoot seems to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

For instance it would save this question.
Does your Mb have onboard sound ? Did you disable or delete what was installed originally?

Yes my motherboard does have onboard sound but I disabled the sound on it, I tried making it work when it was the only sound card activated but it still did not work.
