Problems with administrative stuff

Hello, I am having problems at the moment with my PC it's running windows XP proffesional SP1 and for some reason I can't upgrad eit to SP2 it say something along the lines that i don't have administrative access to change the registry, even though I am the administrator. Any ideas? thanks

can anybody give me an answer, please?

login in as administrator and add everyone to administrators group.

right click my computer
choose manage
choose users and groups
choose groups
choose administrators
choose add and add everyone

when you are done remove everyone from the admin groups

Sorry about the long time in replying, but it didn't work. Any other ideas?
