Problems with Lexmark X125 printer

I recieved a Lexmark X125 printer as a gift and when I added to my Dell 2400 computer it worked fine. But after I restarted I keep getting a message that my computer can not communicate with the printer. After I reinstall the printers software it will work. Start up again and it's the same problem. Anyone have simililar problems, I might be able to dump it back at the store it was bought at.
