Problems With My SATA Componets

Howsit Guys.

Ive been experiencing serious SATA problems recently. I have one SATA2 320GIG HDD and a 18X Sony SATA DVD writer. When i access my SATA hard drive my pc starts to freeze and jam and when i burn information from my SATA hard drive to my SATA writer it takes 30MINS but if I write information from my IDE drive to my SATA writer it takes 6MINS???

try with another SATA data cable.. and also check in Device manager that the Primary/Secondary drive controllers are set to DMA mode and not PIO

I have tried different cables still no luck. I will have a look at the other option that you recommended.

To me, it looks like the sata hard drive is failing and will need replacing soon.

The strange thing is the hard drive is Brand new so is the writer. But im open to all suggestions. Any way i took the hard drive out and dvd writer and put it into another machine and it worked like a charm so guys i don't know im guessing motherboard here. I'm not to sure but having two power supplies in one pc could cause it?
