Problems with sound

i have a friends computer right now cleaning it up for him getting off all the viruses and what not lol but i cant get the sound to work or any music to play..i use itunes and nothing plays..i tried media player and the songs that appear are red and they dont play anybody know what could be the problem??

no i get beebs from the computer for certain things but thats it...when i pull up the itunes it says something about the confugration or something like that...i can make sure what exactly it says and get back to you because i no longer have the computer...

check your cables, device drivers, and whether or not your speakers are digital or analog. Also this question needs to be posted in the audio forum.
