probs with wireless aol

hey guys, i think i am at the brink of reaching insanity.
i got this aol platinum package and installed it on my desktop. it worked perfectly. then i installed it on my laptop and it works fine with the ethernet cable....
but when i try to go online wirelessly , it doesnt work... it can detect the network and when i click on "connnect", it says connecting.... then after a few seconds it refreshes all over again.

i dont know if the prob is with the wireless adapter. at the uni i can go online wirelessly with no problems...
i currently have the following network adapters:

ralink RT2500 wireless lan card
VIA rhine II fast ethernet adapter...

any ideas? thanks!

You should turn off all virus protection/firewall stuff, deleted cookies, cleaned out temp files, switched internet options back to default, etc. if this doesen't work you should try installing on another computer
means using network connection wizard to configure your DSL rather than using SBC software. I have been running 2 PCs this way and just set up a 3rd for a friend. The software probably isn't the problem, but it is unnecessary. I have never heard of XP having problems with DSL service.
