Ps/2 port for mouse problem

ei guys,

im new here and i would really appreciate it if someone could help me out regarding this matter.

i have a asus a7s333 motherboard that works just ok except for one thing, the ps/2 port for the mouse causes trouble. here's the scenario, i turn on the computer mouse cursor moves ok, then for about ten seconds it goes berserk. what i mean is it jumps all around the screen and does some clicks with me even clicking it, every time i try to move it, even just a little, it jumps all around the screen. and it even has its pattern. from start button going up then going right, same pattern everytime i try to move it.

please rule out the following because i already tried this.
clean the mouse (done)
replace mouse (done)
clean ps/2 port (done, i even sprayed some air in it to remove the dust)
formatted my pc (done, although i know this won't help)
formatted my pc without the mouse (done)
formatted my pc with a serial mouse (done)

by the way my motherboard doesn't recognize a serial mouse. why is that?

so the root of the problem i think is the ps/2 port for the mouse, any ideas on how to salvage or repair this?

thanks!

clean the mouse? is this a ball mouse or optical?

Have you simply just tried a USB mouse?
