But is it wise. the eMachine is infamous for eating power supplies along with its motherboards.

Rear Overhang.....

Realize that in an Emachines mini-tower, larger supplies such as this can be a tight fit. They'll usually go in, but measure first. The PSU you're looking at doesn't appear too deep.

provided it fits the dimensions and your power requirements, it should work.
Get a PSU that is equal or greater to your current wattage. I would add 50w to be on the safe side.

... but we always have to install another power supply to make sure the motherboard is good or not
