QTechnology PSUs unsuitable for a AM2 system?

Hi,

I have an existing system with a QTechnology power supply (either 350 or 400W) which I am trying to upgrade to a AMD Athlon AM2 4200+ system with 1 GB RAM, 1 SATA or IDE HD, low-end video card and TV card.

A friend of mine who has recently built a AM2 4200+ system is saying that this power supply does not support "dual cores"?? Does this make sense?

He is saying that newer power supplies have some sort of special provision to handle both the cores properly, and just any power supply won't do. Is this correct?

Thanks.

here is the link to the power supplies page for the QTechnologies PSUs:

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

You can tell your friend, he`s talking out of his backside lol. All ATX psu`s will work with a dual core cpu.
