At the advice of a friend, i've recently installed Norman Virus Control, and I was wondering if the programme is always running, and consequently if it would immedietlely alert me when a virus is active on my system, like produce a pop up window or something like that, or whether I would have to go through the progress (took me 4 hours last time) to scab the PC and check for viruses.

To put my question too you waffle free - is Norman always running, and will it alert me if a virus is active?

Help much appreciated,
Steve.

If you installed it with the option to start at the same time as Windows, then yes it will always run. Again depending on your setup and options, it will notify you one way or another that you have got a virus. Normally it should isolate the virus and try to get rid of it. Look in your Options-menu to find out what Norman AV does when a virus comes in (not a very effective AV by the way)
