Eww im scared there are popups from explorer poping up.
i got two dll hosts running one from system and one from owner.
Then theres another thing... Msn_Sl.exe by owner... wtf... is it linked to my many spyware issues?
Should i bring norton back from the dead?!

The Msn_Sl.exe file is legit, see HERE for info.

As for the rest of your problems.

Go and read the Trojan Pakes and other nasties preliminary removal instructions. Follow all the instructions exactly.

Post fresh HJT and AVG Antispyware logs as attachments into this thread, only after doing the above.

Regards Howard :)

you'll laugh at how poor my computer is.

I promise I won`t laugh.

I definitely don`t find viruses/spyware funny at all, that`s why I like to get rid of it for folks.

You might want to copy and paste these instructions into a notepad file. Then you can have the file open in safe mode, so you can follow the instructions easier.

Turn off system restore.(XP/ME only) See how here.> http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial56.html

Boot into safe mode, under your normal user name(NOT THE ADMINISTRATOR ACCOUNT). See how here.> http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial61.html

In Windows Explorer, turn on "Show all files and folders, including hidden and system". See how here.> http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial62.html

Go to add remove programmes in your control panel and uninstall anything to do with(if there).

GCN

Close control panel.

Open your task manager, by holding down the ctrl and alt keys and pressing the delete key.

Click on the processes tab and end process for(if there).

GCN.exe

Close task manager.

Run HJT with no other programmes open(except notepad). Click the scan button. Have HJT fix the following, by placing a tick in the little box next to(if there).

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://g.msn.com/0SEENUS/SAOS01?FORM=TOOLBR

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://g.msn.com/0SEENUS/SAOS01?FORM=TOOLBR

Click on the fix checked button.

Close HJT.

Locate and delete the following bold files and/or directories(if there).

C:\Program Files\GCN Delete the entire folder.

Reboot into normal mode, turn system restore back on and rehide your protected OS files.

Post a fresh HJT log and let me know how your system is running.

gcn is a chat network.
i like my tool bars.
you sure theres nothing else worryable?
*running on canned coffee and cake* OOOOO____OOOOO hehehehe.

Nothing else except for what I listed.

I`m not so sure that GCN is safe, but it`s up to you if you want to keep it. Also, many toolbars download viruses and spyware onto your computer. Apart from Yahoo and Google toolbars, I wouldn`t recommend any.

I`m not on about them blocking popups, I`m on about toolbars that actively download rubbish onto your computer, or spy on your computer usage etc.

How`s your system running?
